Operation Toofan
A massive public anti-drug campaign was organized under the auspices of Azhoor Grama Panchayat on September 28, 2026. The Panchayat initiated this program to raise strong awareness against the rising prevalence of substance abuse in society and to emphasize collective public action in building a safe, drug-free community, moving away from the insecurity caused by addiction.
As part of the event, Grama Panchayat President Smt. Keerthi Krishna hoisted the 'Toofan 2.0' flag at the Panchayat premises. Subsequently, Vice President Sri. Ranjith Lal administered the anti-drug pledge and highlighted the need to create public awareness regarding the harmful consequences of the spread of drugs in society.
The program saw active participation from elected representatives, police officials, Panchayat office staff, employees of allied institutions, Kudumbashree representatives, MGNREGS workers, and the general public. It aimed to ensure the successful achievement of the 'Toofan 2.0' project's goals and to secure a firm commitment and active participation from all members in making the Grama Panchayat drug-free, while also ensuring the constant vigilance of 'Toofan Warriors' regarding this issue.
